Position Summary:


The Sr. Occupancy Planner is responsible for building strong partnerships with business partners and providing space planning, layouts, and facilities related support for office buildings and labs on the Bothell Campus Site and other locations in the West and Central Regions.  This position is the key customer interface for space management and escalations.


Essential Functions:

  • Planning, programming and management of space planning projects to meet customers’ expectations
  • Develop options and solutions on space issues
  • Work closely with the Moves/Adds/Changes team to execute requests
  • Maintains accuracy of space data in PLANON Space Management System
  • Develop migration plans and sequencing of group-level and individual office moves
  • As necessary, assist in developing site-specific planning strategies with Leadership
  • Ensure that planning is aligned with corporate guidelines, and that all scenarios maximize use of space
  • Educate and enforce space policies/standards, procedures and protocols and notify client of customer requested exceptions
  • Develop and communicate annual space allocation forecasts
  • Carry out space audits and track actual space demand
  • Reconcile and recommend space solutions for current and forecasted headcount, and execute to the site strategic plan
  • Maintain accurate records of space inventory, databases/maps, and facilities layouts
  • Provide planning support for building renovations and other facilities enhancement projects 
  • Support capacity/utilization studies
  • Architectural design and code reviews

Smart

  • BS degree in Facilities Planning, Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering or related
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience in corporate environment
  • Position requires experience and skills in the areas of facilities planning and layout, architectural/interior design principles, project management, and move coordination
  • Must have strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF and AutoCAD
  • Must have strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and presentation skills

Dynamic and Highly Skilled

  • Dynamic and technologically savvy and utilize software to support planning solutions and communicate ideas clearly with real estate team and lines of business
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlook-up, cell calculations), and AutoCAD (basic test-fits and square foot calculations)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to consolidate data and floor plans into Power Point for presentations to client and lines of business is highly valued
  • Ability to ask the right questions to understand the underlying needs of our clients
  • You’ll discover how to be proactive and innovative with solutions your stakeholders

Organized, Open and Flexible

  • Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken – and we’ll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines
  • You keep on top of things as you’ll often need to reorganize your time day to day, to deal with your team’s changing necessities and requests
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients will successful in the role
