Rail Practice Group (RPG) - Manager Land Records and Mapping


This individual will be responsible for providing the highest quality service to RPG clients and reports directly to the RPG Director Title Services & Portfolio Management. This individual will be a direct point of contact and have direct responsibility and accountability for the review of land surveys, legal descriptions, maps, deeds and other resources as they relate to the closing of dispositions of RPG client property. This individual is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the management of their projects in a manner that is consistent with the client’s goals.


  • Review and analyze surveys and legal descriptions as they relate to client dispositions or projects
  • Review and analyze client’s internal maps, deeds and other resources as they relate to client dispositions or projects
  • Write and review legal descriptions
  • Serve as an information resource – conduct client property records research and compile data as it relates to title, dispositions and/or special projects

•         Maintain ongoing communication with client via verbal updates and reports

•         Evaluate property title based on client’s acquisition instruments

•         Interface with third party land surveyors

•         Meet or exceed all goals and objectives as assigned

  • Respond and handle other issues as assigned

  Consistently provide the highest quality service to Rail Practice Group clients

  Develop and maintain positive relationships with client’s internal departments

    Update and maintain the information related to your projects in the transaction databases

    Perform other related duties as assigned


•         Related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

•         Three + years real estate/survey related experience

•         Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

•         Ability to work independently

•         Ability to gather and analyze property records information and produce clear, concise reports which may include text, maps and spreadsheets

•         Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and ability to utilize boundary closure software a plus
