Job Summary

The Portfolio Financial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day Finance & Accounting functions for assigned group to ensure compliance and provide effective reporting and analysis for effective business decisions.


Job Responsibilities

Reporting

  • Lead the creation of the annual plan and quarterly forecasts for assigned group
  • Develop and produce client reporting
  • Work with Accounting team to ensure data integrity
  • Assist team in monthly reporting and streamline process
  • Work closely with General Managers (in a support role) to prepare timely monthly and quarterly reports for the Client properties, which summarize and forecast building activity and financial performance in areas of revenues and expenses based upon past, present and expected operations.  Strictly adhere to the reporting format outlined by Client. 
  • Develop and produce portfolio level reporting

Analysis

  • Produce and analyze monthly and quarterly variance reports
  • Ad hoc analysis to help make business decisions - may include ROI, benchmarking etc.
  • Download and manipulate data from Yard accounting system
  • Oversee tenant reconciliation process and billing of revenue

Compliance

  • Interact with offsite accounting
  • Manage compliance with JLL policies and procedures
  • Act as administrator for Yardi and other systems as needed
  • Oversee A/R, A/P, revenue recognition
  • Ensure compliance with all lease obligations including revenue and other clauses
  • Maintain internal control processes and standards and ensure the compliance of the group

Leadership

  • Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Act as resource to client and Property Management Team
  • Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education/training

  • BS in Accounting 
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PeopleSoft
  • Competency in Yardi 7S and other real estate software
  • MBA

Years of relevant experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting role(s)

Skills and knowledge

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • Unquestionable technical skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend associated legal documents
  • Has led Finance or Business specific projects, directing Associates; Can lead a variety of projects across multiple disciplines/businesses

Other abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Positive attitude and the ability to quickly respond to co-workers and clients
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • A highly motivated self-starter who works well independently
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills

Certifications/licenses

CPA

Physical work requirements and work conditions

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
