Summary

The Performance/Lease Analyst will use analytical tools to extract, transform and load data to generate reports and dashboards for City National Bank, Corporate Premises. These reports will enable managers and department leads to easily find and share the information they need to make decisions.
The Analyst will retrieve data from the JLL/CNB repository, or from departmental databases. This data can vary by department and uses and could include information from Lease Transactions to Project timelines. The Analyst manipulates the data using powerful analytical software and applications. This information is then populated into reports and dashboards that interpret the “story” in the data.

Responsibilities
The role also requires focused attention in the Lease Transaction functions of City National Bank.  It requires assisting the CNB Corporate Premises Transaction Manager in completing significant real estate transactions for leased and owned properties with the bank, including acquisitions, new leases, lease renewals, subleases and dispositions.  It specifically requires an understanding of the current lease situation, including the review of lease abstracts, key terms and current annualized occupancy costs (i.e. rent, operating costs and depreciation).

The position requires working with the Commercial Real Estate team, Performance Manager and Transaction Manager to implement the most efficient, effective reporting and tracking of data, using systems in place.  Key elements and essential tasks include:

  • Assist Transaction Manager in managing end-to-end process of completing lease transactions from start to finish, finalizing all documentation and executing all leases.
  • Work with Transaction Manager in coordinating and attending site tours (local) and meetings, processing leases, lease extensions, lease options and lease amendments for approval and signatures, tracking key leases dates, organizing and maintaining lease files.
  • Maintain lease files, broker agreements and general lease correspondence.
  • Update tracking of lease data and information, including maintaining lease transaction reports on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Assist in preparing lease authorization packages and other Corporate Premises presentations for Senior Management approval.
  • Preparation and review of detailed financial analysis via financial modeling include PPV cash flow, rent projections, total lease obligation and straight-line lease accounting.
  • Analyze data for all regions to identify gaps and/or issues at branches across the portfolio and present findings to CNB/JLL.
  • Provide benchmarking support utilizing data from multiple sources including the Premises Service Center (PSC), financial data, leasing data, case studies and JLL programs.
  • Setting up processes to ensure validity and data integrity in multiple databases and trackers, while working with business service teams to ensure data quality.

Qualifications

  • Software Tools:
    • High level skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT) required. 
    • Experience with other data and statistical applications are a plus (Access, MiniTab, Sigma Excel, SQL)
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • MBA or Masters degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical background
  • Attention to detail and an organized work style
  • Independent, flexible and resourceful
  • Should be expert user of both Excel & Access, with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Real Estate or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate a plus, but not required
