What this job involves

As an IT Audit Director you’ll be responsible for the completion of IT audits (including Sarbanes Oxley compliance), providing strategic direction in the establishment of risk-based auditing and establishing reporting methodologies, organization design, and effective positioning of the function. This position is responsible for supervising, scheduling and performing audit engagements; planning, supervising and performing information system control audits, audit reviews, process audits; and reviewing and approving audit programs. The incumbent will be responsible for building and managing relationships with senior technology and other business leaders in the company, as well as working closely with the CAE to deliver work that provides assurance over the key risks for the technology applications and processes, IT projects, and IT infrastructure..


This role provides leadership development opportunities by working with senior management and international exposure that will broaden your knowledge of our global organization.


In this role you’ll use your:


Strategic thinking skills

  • You’ll provide strategic oversight and management of JLL’s end-to end IT Audit program as the Global IT Audit Director working closing with other Lead Auditors in the department to provide assurance and advisory services to the business.
  • You’ll always look for process improvement opportunities and initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT Audit program and Global Internal Audit department
  • You’ll also manage implementation of those and other improvements, including process changes and adoption of tools and technology to assist in carrying out your responsibilities.

IT Audit expertise

  • You’ll collaborate with various Technology Service teams to better understand the changes that are being planned and significant IT systems being implemented to provide assurance on project delivery and guidance on updating process and control related issues.
  • You’ll ensure all current projects conform to requirements of all areas, i.e., policies, procedures, workflow, etc.


  • You’ll plan, supervise and execute IT General Computer Controls (ITGC) and Application Control (AC) audits to support the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance reviews.
  • You’ll guide control owners in ensuring the maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) related process and control documentation.
  • You’ll have data residency knowledge to support a global organization operating across 70 countries
  • You’ll coordinate the IT audit efforts with the internal financial/business audit team, internal IT management, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • You’ll acting as a center of expertise and coaching the IT department in IT Risks and IT Compliance.
  • You’ll be responsible for planning and supervising compliance reviews of disaster recovery plans to monitor compliance of plans against corporate policies and applicable regulations.
  • You’ll be responsible for resource planning and budgeting, status reporting, and staff training, management and oversight of audit teams.
  • You’ll be providing training for IT Services teams to help develop a process and control mindset.
  • You’ll be training and developing Audit Management and Senior level Auditors within the IT Audit department.
     

Strong management skills

  • You’ll manage a cohesive, responsive, engaged and high-performing team including indirect reports during projects and assignments
  • You’ll manage process owners in maintaining and updating the process narratives/flowcharts; and control owners in ensuring the appropriate /sufficient evidence of controls

Strong communication skills

  • You’ll represent GIA as liaison and insure a close relationship and proper alignment with the external auditors and with IT and other internal compliance groups (e.g. legal, compliance, and professional standards)
  • You’ll support leadership to ensure an effective IT Audit program on an on-going basis, including the planning, execution and reporting of controls over various IT processes.
  • You’ll participate in audits and advisory reviews where needed, and communicate audit findings and Action Plans to key stakeholders on a regular basis

Education and experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent and related certifications (CPA, ACA, CIA, CISA or similar) are a plus.
  • Minimum of twelve to fifteen years’ experience in public accounting or industry. Professional services experience is a plus.
  • Advanced level experience in a related role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management, with proven abilities in taking responsibility for executing concurrently on a portfolio of high quality deliverables according to strict timetables.
  • Specific subject matter expertise regarding technology application control disciplines and a strong understanding of IT and corporate functions.


Organizational and communicative skills

  • You’ll need to have great verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and presentation skills, as well as solid organizational, project management and execution skills
  • You should have excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
  • You’ll need to have the ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team
  • You’ll have the ability to work with virtual, global teammates and understanding/sensitivity working with and within cultural and international differences

Technical skills

  • Experience with Workiva or other GRC systems a plus, in addition to Microsoft Excel and Visio
  • PeopleSoft, JDE/E1 or Large Scale ERP financial systems experience or implementations experience is also a plus
  • Knowledge of best practices to secure enterprise technology infrastructure and application environments
