Job Description

General Accounting:

  • Responsible for the preparation, management, consolidation and delivery of the annual plan and quarterly reforecast
  • Supervise team in the completion of quarterly audit schedules
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization
  • Design, implement, document and maintain policies and procedures that support efficient and effective processes as well as maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Ownership of the annual plan and quarterly reforecast
  • Ownership of all Financial Processes within given span of control
  • Supervise revenue recognition process
  • Review, understand and ensure compliance and proper accounting for transaction deals
  • Key financial/accounting liaison for Business Unit Executives, Product Line owners and Corporate.  Act as advisor and strategic partner to these groups for all financial, operational and client matters
  • Provide proactive decision making support to all stakeholders
  • Responsible for meeting accounts receivable objectives and metrics

Management Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall accounting team management, staff development and planning.  Execute staff succession and growth plans.
  • Involved in compensation planning process

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reporting package 
  • Responsible for the preparation of analysis and dashboard reporting for CAO and CFO of the client group, as well as Corporate.
  • Produce and analyze monthly and quarterly financial variance reports
  • Prepare pipeline report and dashboard metrics for business or product lines.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities

Other:

  • Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.

Education/training

  • BS in Accounting required
  • MBA preferred

Years of relevant experience

  • 10+ years’ experience
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience mandatory - Individual must have trained and evaluated staff.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret associated legal documents (i.e. contracts, leases)
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven presentation skills
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PeopleSoft
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks. 

Certifications/licenses:

  • CPA - preferred

Physical work requirements and work conditions:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
