What this job involves-

The Director of Finance is a hands-on leader who will oversee all aspects of the Tri-State Region’s Finance operations.  The position serves as the senior finance executive for the region providing strategic support to the executive suite, managing a team of finance professionals, and insuring JLL’s accounting processes and procedures are followed.   The ideal candidate will have demonstrated financial acumen, be an adept leader of people, and have a superior, service-oriented approach to finance.  This position will require an analytical and metric-driven leader that has the ability to influence multiple layers of stakeholders, create consensus across diverse constituents in a matrixed environment, and drive strong financial performance.   Additionally, the ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment is a must.  The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a sales organization and be able to build rapport with key stakeholders, and create a partnering relationship with service line and geographic market leads.  This is role reports to the Regional Finance Director, with a matrix reporting relationship to the Tri-State Market Director.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Key financial/accounting liaison for Business Unit Executives, Product Line owners and corporate teams.  Act as advisor and strategic partner to these groups for all financial, operational and client matters.
  • Assumes ownership of all Financial Processes within given span of control
  • Lead a team of Finance Managers, Seniors and Staff
  • Communicate Direction of the business across the team.  Responsible for team management, staff development and planning.
  • Responsible for the preparation, management, consolidation and delivery of the annual plan and quarterly reforecasts.  Will work with individual service lines and/or geographic market leads to generate the information necessary to accurately plan and forecast the business. 
  • Liaison with the corporate accounting team on revenue recognition, internal controls, accounts receivable, audits and general accounting. 
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reporting package, including insights and analysis on key drivers, opportunities and risks.  Recommend strategies to achieve regional goals.
  • Responsible for the preparation of analysis and dashboard reporting for Regional and Market Business Leaders, CFO, as well as Corporate
  • Develops relationships with key business leaders through value added/ad hoc analysis and/or ownership of critical projects, including M&A
  • Provide proactive decision making support to all stakeholders
  • Interpret key financial data for the region, identify significant variances and make recommendations to improve. 

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors in Accounting, or Finance related field
  • MBA or CPA, a plus

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience supporting the operations of the business
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience mandatory
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, well-developed presentation skills 
  • Ability to manage numerous internal client relationships
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and business partnership skills
  • Strong manager that cares for and supports the development of staff
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
