Job Description

Summary

The role of Director, Business Development is to determine the needs of the Mid-Atlantic PDS business and develop strategies to further develop current relationships and develop new clients that lead to revenue generation and business growth.  This position will be a subject matter expert for the entire Mid-Atlantic PDS practice group.  In addition, the role will also assist in overseeing the day to day operating functions and the team that supports hiring/onboarding, training, event planning, technology, communications, and special projects.

Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Lead all business development for all market sectors within Mid-Atlantic PDS which includes building and managing relationships with decision makers on current and target client lists.
  • Identify market sector strengths and weaknesses for growth projections and staffing requirements. Assist in development of SWOT analysis for each asset class.
  • Work with Sector leadership to understand current client list, pipeline and client experience – both internal and external to JLL. Address any client issues.
  • Work with Sector leadership to understand current marketing material, proposal development and overall marketing and business development strategies. Improve and update where needed.
  • Identify team of people to support the execution of marketing and business development strategies. Develop, mentor and advocate for team.
  • Manage the RFP/ RFQ process and work with project teams to set agendas and dates for deliverables
  • Prepare and lead effective presentations for client pitches.
  • Engage with internal JLL clients to augment PDS leadership.
  • Manage CRM for sales and revenue forecasting
  • Engage with real estate community, including industry groups, to identify new PDS Markets opportunities.
  • Prioritize and support major growth initiatives.
  • Actively engage in acquisition growth strategy conversations for overall growth and cultural alignment.
  • Act as liaison to PDS Corporate Solutions business line for identification of PDS Market business line opportunities.

Operational Support:

  • Lead market operations team and initiatives
  • Primary point of contact within PDS for many Marketing, Accounting, and Human Resource Initiatives.  This includes partnering with Marketing to design and develop marketing material to showcase service capabilities.
  • Assist in driving a healthy culture by fostering trust, collaboration, transparency, recognition, inclusion and fun. 
  • Work with the leadership team and Operations team to organize industry events.
  • In conjunction with the Market Sector leads and the Operations team, monitor staffing levels and Business Development pipeline to ensure staff is properly utilized and warm bench is adequate to support BD pipeline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.  8+ years industry experience with 5 years in a client facing or business development role.  Must understand product line and desire to be the expert in the Project and Development Services space.  Resourceful self-starter and the ability to quickly develop relationships inside and outside the organization.
