Role Purpose

The Culinary Purchaser works as part of an EMEA Culinary team and will work closely with the Culinary Procurement Co Ordinator, F&B Manager EMEA and Executive Chef/Sous Chef, supporting the management of service delivery and operational delivery relating to food and beverage services in Dublin and across EMEA. The Culinary Purchaser will assist the culinary team purchasing department by creating vendor orders daily through the purchasing tool and liaising with the kitchen and vendors on resolving any issues.

What this job involves

  • Input vendor orders daily and in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with goods receivers in each location daily and action any delivery or product issues with vendors.
  • Update vendor feedback tracker with any issues.
  • Work with the procurement coordinator on updating and adding new products to the system.
  • Support the team with special reporting and data analysis projects.
  • Assist with training new users and other purchasers.
  • Support operations while the Culinary Procurement Coordinator by assisting in reconciling invoices.
  • Escalate any operational issues to the F&B Manager.
  • Escalate any cost or budget issues to the Facebook Executive Chef/Sous Chef.
  • Any other tasks assigned by management.

  • Third level qualification in food or hospitality management preferable.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing role.
  • Strong financial acumen with a proven budget control record and the ability to understand, manage, report and analyse F&B data/metrics.
  • Extensive food knowledge required as Café explores different cuisines every day and ingredients to be sourced can be unfamiliar and very difficult to obtain.
  • HACCP knowledge and local guidelines essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to network at all department levels, team player with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, innovative, driven, professional approach a requirement.
  • Proficient computer skills.
