Job Description- Material Coordinator, Lab Services

OVERVIEW

Join the Laboratory Services Team supporting scientific and facilities operations in a dynamic laboratory environment!  Operations may include, but are not limited to, ordering consumables/supplies, lab logistics and moves, shipping and receiving, glassware washing, autoclaving, mail services, waste stream management, chemical and gas management, media and buffer preparation, inventory management, and emergency response management. Liaise with client researchers and support personnel to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction and support to enable client scientific operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Proactively perform lab services scope of work for the account, implementing client standard processes and procedures, ensuring superior customer satisfaction, sustaining a safe work environment and demonstrating productivity.
  • Serve as point of contact for assigned research floors.
  • Filling, delivery, and hook up of compressed gas cylinders and/or cryogenic dewars.
  • Daily delivery of chemicals and packages to laboratories.
  • Maintain high level of organization and cleanliness of laboratory corridors at all times.
  • Coordinate with site researchers to guide and assist with local procedures and requests.
  • Maintain stock of laboratory waste management supplies.
  • Assist with carrying out site office moves.
  • Complete laboratory equipment moves and/or lifts via work orders.
  • Operate forklift as needed to support loading dock operations.
  • Complete required comprehensive training in corporate, site specific, and departmental procedures.
  • Assure that the necessary safety equipment and personal protective equipment is available and utilized.
  • Drive adherence to established processes and demonstrate agility and creativity to meet dynamic business needs.
  • Escalate risks throughout the organization appropriately.
  • Any other duties and tasks assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience in operations or logistics preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research fields
  • DOT HE-1D General Industrial Forklift Licence preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Experience working on a client site a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and provide flexibility to the client.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in group settings.
  • Effective use of technology and tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
