Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                            What this job involves –

•         To develop and implement safety related policies.

•         To identify, organise and maintain record of all safety related trainings to all employees.

•         Plan, procure, maintain stock, issue and ensure usage of necessary PPE.

•         Monitor, maintain and report safety status of the plant on periodical basis to all concerned.

•         Ensure reduction in loss hours; instil confidence in personnel to work fearlessly.

•         Acquire knowledge on occupation and safety related subjects; update all concerned on changes in laws.

•         Ensure periodic inspection, validation of safety equipment including fire hydrants and firefighting equipment.

•         Liaoning with other Client entities and Government agencies on safety related issues.

•         Organize and carry out periodic audit, implement corrective action and ensure compliance on regular basis.

•         Firmness in implementing safety related requirements even in hostile areas.

•         Work with Operators, Supervisors, Material handling persons, security staff at the Site.

•         Availability and responsiveness are important for effective mitigation of emergency situations at any time of the day or night. Physical fitness is a key requirement.

•         Knowledge in first aid, firefighting, in addition to rules & regulations and other standards pertaining to safety.

•         Experience in setting up /working with fire safety equipment, alarm systems and abreast of latest developments in these fields.

•         Knowledge of latest PPE equipment, sources, market/price and storage requirements.

Performance objectives

•         Meet or exceed best practice in provision of services through contracts

•         Establishment and adherence to policies & procedures, compliance deadlines for each of the tasks as advised by the Operation Manager.

•         Effective management of the team
